The installation and setup of updates should only be carried out by trained smartPerform experts with knowledge of the special features of the AV / IT infrastructure in the specific location. For your support a sufficient qualification and a valid support agreement is required.

Backup – go safe!

In any case, make a backup copy of your smartPerform project before installing a new smartPerform version or opening a smartPerform project with a new version. Simply copy the smartPerform project folder to a backup directory in Windows Explorer.

Installation – easy and fast!
The installation of a new version is identical to the first, original installation. Save the smartPerform setup file and start the installation process by double-click on this file. During installation, you will be asked to enter the desired installation path. If you do not change anything here, the existing version will be updated directly. Alternatively, several different versions can be installed. Just setup a new installation path e.g. with the specify version number. This is especially recommended if the old functional status is to be restored in conjunction with a project backup. Note: without a valid license key, the functional scope will be Designer Edition Advanced (= demo version).
Test run – check your projects first.
Before the release, our new versions go through extensive testing and quality assurance measures. Despite all measures, there may be unwanted effects with the multitude of functions and possibilities. Please test your projects in a controlled environment and please report errors and faults immediately to our support (support@smartPerform.de).

Rollout – one device or many?
An application with smartPerform can affect one or more computers on the network. Please note that all systems, including an optional server, need updating. The installation and setup of updates should only be carried out by trained smartPerform experts who are familiar with the specifics of the AV / IT infrastructure in your location. For your support a sufficient qualification and a valid support agreement is required.

If you want to restore the functionality of the previous version of smartPerform, this is not a problem. Simply use the previous version of the program or download the version here via the update landing page (license key required) and reinstall it on your computer. Open your project backup with that – done!
